I’ve eaten here many times. The food is fantastic (but not Tagliata di manzo). They serve very good pasta and risotto. Carciofi is also great. The staffs are nice but the service can be very slow. They’re always busy so better book in advance.
A pizza restaurant that doesn’t serve pizza at lunchtime.
We waited 45mins+ for our pasta (I think we were forgotten).
However, the food was delicious once it arrived.
The service let our experience down today, but it wouldn’t stop us from returning.
This place was recommended by our hotel. We met there with couple friends. We were ended up quite disappointed by our experience. They offer a huge menu with lot of options. My wife really wanted to eat carbonara pasta while we were still in Italy. It turned out these were probably the worst carbonara pasta we ever ate. Creamy sauce that was not homemade., they added very salty flakes of bacon. This was nothing like a traditional carbonara. The raguh pasta(bolognaise) was not as bad but still not very good. My friend took the lamb which was not good either. On the other hand i took the entrecôte and it was really good meat, well seasoned and prepared. This place is quite busy, with locals. Most were eating risotto, seafood, entrecôte (i actually changed my original order to entrecôte when i saw someone plate with it). My take is that we didn’t ordered what they are good at and my recommendation for the restaurant would be to reduce the menu and focus on what they are best at. Entrecôte was a 5, carbonara a 1, bolognaise a 2 and lamb a 3
The best food we had in Rome and during our whole Italy trip. Best Amatriciana and Carbonaro we had ever. The staff was really friendly. 10 of 10 points. Next time in Rome, we will visit again.
I had the pleasure of dining here twice with my wife on our holiday to Rome 2022.
We had beef dishes that was very good, and second time; Carciofi alla Giudia, gnocchi with scrimp and traditional pizza. All very good. We enjoyed the wine and excellent service, especially zabaione le fragole, made in front of us.
The atmosphere is cozy, and it seems many locals eat there too.
I heartily recommend you visit it, most places do good food or pizza, but Ristorante Pizzeria - Il Focolare does both well.
The meat plate was not good. Three of the four meats were dry, tasteless, and overcooked. The salad had no dressing. Very disappointing $30 meal.
Good food with a warm hospitality, it was hard to choose what to eat because everything on the menu sound good and every dish on other tables looks good
Very good food and good price!! Only spend 33 euro dinner for 2
